I’m sure you are all familiar with the old saying, “Timing is everything.” I think everyone at the beginning of a new year looks back at the past and reflects on all that has happened. As the New Year was approaching, I too was thinking about all that God has done for me and on His perfect timing. He has been so faithful to me in many ways. He has provided me, at the perfect time with a job, an apartment, a car, a church family & he has placed people in my pathway that have left an imprint on my lift. Most of the time, He doesn’t always allow us to see the exact timing of His plan and that can be frustrating. Believe me, there were times I thought, “This is never going to work out!” We all know that God’s plan for lives is good, and when we accept His timing we can live in hope while God is working on our problems. Psalm 31:15a (TPT) says, “My life, my every moment, my destiny – it’s all in your hands…” The Lord sees every aspect of our lives, including our needs and desires. Through His great wisdom, He understands what’s best for us. His timing for our lives is always perfect!
It’s okay to look back to past seasons and see how God has been faithful. We can see what He has taught us and where He has brought us. I see the evidence of how mighty He has been in my life everyday. This reflection hopefully fuels us to move forward in Him. We can go wherever He’s calling us, and we can move forward EXPECTING Him to be right where we are, ready for us wherever we’re headed next. He knows the big picture and will provide when we give up our need for control. 2 Peter 3:9 (MSG) says, “God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because He doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.” Lord help us all try not to worry and to remember, His timing is perfect and He will open doors when the timing is right.
