The oasis international training center prampram, ghana, west africa
The Oasis International Training Centre was dedicated in 2000 and has been growing and changing for the glory of God ever since!
The founder and president of the Oasis Churches and Oasis Training Center, Bishop Elvina E. Miller, D.D., now in her late 90's, is proud of the next generation that continues the work that she started.
The vision for this Centre began over 50 years ago when Bishop Miller realized the call of God in her life to go to Africa. She was invited to visit the village of Prampram, where the annual Fetish festival was being held. The powers of darkness which captivated both the people and the community could not withstand the power of Almighty God, demonstrated in the life of Bishop Miller. (The full account of this story is told in her book, Captured in Africa, as well as the companion book, Under the Mango Tree, are available in either paperback for $7.00 or hardback for $15.00)
Seeing the need of this people for the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, she desired for many years to return there. Finally in 1990, she made her way again to Prampram! Although many churches had been established in the village, she sensed a need for more Biblical training. The desire to meet this need culminated in the acquisition of property for the purpose of building a Training Centre.
Since its "official" opening for classes in 2002, the Training Centre has offered classes in academic, Biblical, and vocational studies. Students walk, ride their bicycles, travel by taxi and a limited number drive from neighboring towns to attend Life Skills Training Classes in the day, or the adult continuing ed classes in the evening. Their hunger for learning, especially for the Word of God, is admirable. Pastors of many churches in the area are being instructed in the ways of God, which influences the people of their congregations.

So, what can you do to help? Well, the greatest thing is prayer! Please pray for the work in Ghana, and for those who are presently
laboring there. Rev. Ambrose Brennan, his wife Susie, from Shippensburg, Pa., and Diane McKee from Huntingdon, PA, are doing a wonderful job administrating the day-to-day happenings of the Training Centre. Bishop Miller's grandson Rev. Art Speck, oversees this mission work.
